We believe in being completely upfront about where UK regulations currently stand. The rules around drone spraying are evolving fast, and we will always operate within them.
Right now, the aerial application of Plant Protection Products (PPPs) from drones is not yet permitted in the UK. That includes pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides. This is a regulatory restriction, not a capability one. Our DJI Agras T70P is fully equipped for PPP application, and we expect the regulations to catch up as the evidence base grows.
There is plenty we can apply though. Fertilisers, biostimulants, seeding, and water-based applications are all fully permitted and make up a significant part of what farmers need from precision drone services.
Drone technology and drone regulations are evolving rapidly. We expect HSE to be working closely with drone manufacturers and operators to make pesticide spraying and spreading from drones more accessible in the near future.
We're not just waiting for change. HarvestHawk has written to MPs and farming ministers, and we are speaking directly with HSE to push for sensible, evidence-based regulation that benefits British farmers. Our Hawk Greener Growing programme is helping build the real-world data to support this.
