Orchards, vineyards and soft fruit

Every tree counted. Every row read. Fed from the air.

Tree counts, canopy health and acreages for your orchard now, from £225. Post-harvest urea, foliar feeds and biostimulants over the canopy from late October 2026, at £25 an acre, with nothing driving between the rows.

Two jobs, one aircraft each

The Mavic 3 Multispectral maps your orchard today: a tree count per block with gaps marked, a canopy vigour map row by row, and boundaries and acreages you can download. From late October 2026, once the CAA grants our Operational Authorisation, the DJI Agras T70P puts post-harvest urea, foliar feeds and biostimulants over the canopy, to the rates your agronomist sets.

Who this is for

Apple and pear growers who want a post-harvest urea on in autumn for leaf breakdown, without taking a tractor and sprayer through wet alleys. Cider orchards on old, uneven ground where a sprayer struggles between standards. Vineyards on a slope, where every tractor pass is a job in itself. Soft fruit growers who want a foliar feed on quickly across a block without disturbing the crop or the pickers' schedule.

And anyone planting, grubbing or budgeting who wants to know, to the tree, what is actually standing in each block. If your orchard is small, steep, wet or awkward, this is the tool built for it.

What a mapping visit gives you, now

A tree count per block. Individual canopies are picked out from the stitched map and counted, with gaps and missing trees marked. It is the basis for replant orders, per-tree input budgets and an honest yield estimate. Counts are a planning guide, not a certified survey, and we tell you the confidence with the number.

Canopy vigour, row by row. NDVI for vigour, and NDRE where the canopy is dense enough to saturate NDVI. Weak rows, hungry corners and water stress show a week or more before the eye catches them.

Boundaries, acreages and a report. A high-resolution orthomosaic of the whole holding with block areas to the fraction of an acre, and a plain-English note written by a person, in your Farmers Portal the same week.

A season in the orchard. Map in winter for the count and the replant order; scan after blossom to see vigour row by row; scan in a dry spell to see which blocks to irrigate first; feed over the canopy after harvest. The season package, four visits for £1,485, is the price of three.

What we can apply, and what we cannot

We can apply: urea for post-harvest leaf breakdown, foliar nutrition, calcium and trace element feeds, and biostimulants. Liquids go through the 70 litre spray tank at 10 to 30 litres per hectare against 100 to 300 from a boom, so up to 85% less water, no bowser and no filling point.

We cannot apply plant protection products. No fungicide for scab or mildew, no insecticide, no herbicide under the trees. UK law does not currently permit applying them from a drone, and we do not know when, or whether, that will change. The full explanation is on can drones spray crops in the UK? Your fungicide programme stays with your existing sprayer.

Your agronomist decides. Product, rate and timing come from your agronomist or FACTS adviser. Our pilot flies to their plan and logs every pass.

How it works

Five steps from the first call to the record in your portal.

Tell us the job

Orchard or vineyard, acreage, variety, and whether you want the count, the feed or both. Quote form, phone or WhatsApp. A written quote comes back within 24 hours, Monday to Saturday.

Your agronomist sets the plan

For nutrition, product, rate and timing come from your agronomist or FACTS adviser. We fly to their figures, never our own.

We survey the site

Our pilot walks the block, notes slope, wires, poles, netting and headlands, and plans a route with RTK (centimetre-accurate GPS) positioning that follows the rows.

We fly it

The Mavic 3M maps the whole holding in a flight or two. The DJI Agras T70P flies above the canopy, refilling its 70 litre tank at the headland. Nothing drives down the alley.

You get the record

The maps, the tree count, the GPS-logged application record and the invoice sit in your Farmers Portal, alongside your messages with us.

What it costs

£495
up to 50 acres

Mapping and scanning together

Tree count, canopy vigour, boundaries, acreages and the report. Available now. Scanning alone £225, mapping alone £350.

£25
an acre

Orchard spraying

Urea, foliar feeds and biostimulants over the canopy, from late October 2026.

Mapping packages cover up to 50 acres in one visit, then £3 an acre. No travel charge within our 21 counties, and a minimum job of £150 rather than a minimum field size. Prices are shown without VAT. HarvestHawk is not currently VAT registered, so nothing is added today; if we register, VAT will be added on top at the standard rate. Every price is on our pricing page.

Where we fly

We work from three bases: Cornwall, Stratford-upon-Avon in Warwickshire, and Hertfordshire, which puts the Herefordshire and Worcestershire orchards and the Somerset and Devon cider country within reach. There is no travel charge within the 21 counties they cover, and a minimum job of £150 rather than a minimum field size. Outside those counties, travel is quoted up front.

We are insured for public liability to £5 million with Coverdrone, subject to policy conditions. The details are on our compliance page.

Common questions

Can you count the trees in my orchard?

In most orchards, yes. The mapping software picks out individual canopies from the stitched map and gives a count per block, with gaps marked on the map. It is a planning guide for replanting and for working out inputs per tree, not a certified survey, and dense or overlapping canopies lower the accuracy. We tell you the confidence with the count.

Can you spray fungicide on my orchard?

No. Fungicides, insecticides and herbicides are plant protection products, and UK law does not currently permit applying them from a drone. We apply nutrition only: urea, foliar feeds and biostimulants. We do not know when, or whether, the law will change, and we will not guess.

Does it reach inside the canopy?

The drone applies from above, with the downdraught from the rotors pushing the spray into the top of the canopy. For a foliar feed or a post-harvest urea that is what you want. It is not a replacement for an airblast sprayer where the target is the underside of the leaf deep in the tree; talk to your agronomist about which jobs suit which tool.

Can you work a steep vineyard?

Yes. Steep ground is where the drone earns its keep, because nothing has to drive along the row. Our pilot surveys the site first, checks the slope, the wires and the headland, and plans the route with RTK positioning so the aircraft follows the rows at a steady height.

What does it cost?

A mapping visit is £225 for crop scanning, £350 for field mapping or £495 for both, each covering up to 50 acres and then £3 an acre, so a 40-acre orchard is £495 with the tree count. Orchard spraying is £25 an acre from late October 2026, with no travel charge within our 21 counties and a minimum job of £150 rather than a minimum field size. Prices are shown without VAT. HarvestHawk is not currently VAT registered, so nothing is added today; if we register, VAT will be added on top at the standard rate.

Start with the count
