Drone crop mapping that shows you what the field is doing

A plant-health picture of every field, accurate acreages, and the facts an agronomist can act on. Flying now across our three regions, from £225 a visit.

What a mapping visit gives you

We fly the DJI Mavic 3M, a mapping aircraft with multispectral cameras (cameras that see beyond visible light) and RTK positioning (centimetre-accurate GPS). One visit covers up to 50 acres as standard, and everything lands in your Farmers Portal the same week.

A stitched map of each field
An orthomosaic (a stitched aerial map) with accurate boundaries and the acreage stated on it. Good enough to plan from, and to share with your agronomist.
A plant-health map
NDVI (a plant-health index) shows where the crop is thriving and where it is struggling, before the difference is visible from the gate.
Zones for action
The map divided into strong, average and weak areas, which is the starting point for a variable rate prescription if you want one.
A plain-English note
What stands out, what it is likely to be, and what to look at on foot. Written by a person, not generated.

Did you know a map can do this?

Mapping gets booked for plant health, and then turns out to answer questions nobody expected it to.

Count the trees in an orchard
The mapping software picks out individual tree canopies and gives a count per block, with gaps and missing trees marked. A planting plan, an insurance figure and a replanting list, from one flight.
Find the wet patch before it drowns the crop
Waterlogged ground shows as a distinct signature in the plant-health map weeks before the crop yellows. Drainage problems stop being a guess.
Measure the field properly
Centimetre-accurate positioning means the acreage on the map is the acreage. Useful for scheme claims, contractor invoices and knowing what you actually farm.
Check establishment
A map taken a few weeks after drilling shows where the crop came up thin, so you can decide about patching or a second pass while it still matters.
Spot the pattern, not just the patch
Compaction along a headland, a nutrient stripe from an old boundary, a pest hot-spot spreading from one corner: shapes on the map tell you the cause, not only the symptom.
Watch a season, not a day
Three or four maps across the season show what is changing and whether what you did worked. That is the season package, four visits for the price of three.

Counts and measurements from a map are a guide for planning, not a certified survey. Where it matters, we say so on the map.

Prices

Each visit covers up to 50 acres, then £3 an acre. Prices are shown without VAT. HarvestHawk is not currently VAT registered, so nothing is added today; if we register, VAT will be added on top at the standard rate.

How a mapping visit works

1. You tell us the fieldsField names and a what3words point or a pin is enough. No travel charge within our 21 counties, and a minimum job of £150 rather than a minimum field size.
2. We pick the windowMapping wants even light and a dry crop. We book the slot and confirm the day before.
3. We flyOur pilot flies a planned grid at a set height. A 50-acre block takes under an hour on the ground.
4. We process and read itThe images are stitched and analysed, then a person looks at it and writes the note.
5. It lands in your portalMaps, zones, acreages and the note, to view, download or hand to your agronomist. Prescriptions from £95 if you want the next step.

Questions farmers ask about mapping

What do I actually get after a mapping visit?A stitched aerial map of each field (an orthomosaic) with accurate boundaries and acreages, a plant-health map (NDVI) showing where the crop is strong and where it is struggling, and a short plain-English note on what stands out. Everything lands in your Farmers Portal to view, download and share with your agronomist.
Can you count the trees in my orchard? In most orchards, yes. The mapping software picks out individual tree canopies from the high-resolution map and gives a count per block, with gaps and missing trees marked. Counts are a guide for planning rather than a certified figure, and very dense or overlapping canopies lower the accuracy.
How accurate are the acreages? The aircraft positions itself with RTK (centimetre-accurate GPS), so field boundaries and areas come out far closer than a tractor's screen or an old map. We state the acreage on the map and use it, with you, for any later quote.
Is mapping available now, before your authorisation?Yes. Crop mapping does not apply anything to the crop, so it needs no Operational Authorisation and is flying now. Spraying, spreading and seeding follow from late October 2026, once the CAA grants ours.
